Chief Red Marshall

On May 7, 1970, Chief Red Marshall was fighting a large propane cylinder fire at Limberlost and First Ave. in Tucson when he suffered a massive heart attack and went into cardiac arrest. Despite life saving efforts by his brothers on the scene, Chief Marshall passed away shortly after.

Jeff Corey was there along with Bob Dwyer. Jeff thought he tripped over a fire hose right in front of him, but he didn’t get up. TFD rescue 5 (from Station 8 ) was there and started right in with CPR.

Shop 15 was used later as the hearse for his final ride.
